DECOHERENCE

12 Jun

From Mind the Bird Media:

Nate PrittsDECOHERENCE arrives this October from 42 Miles Press! David Rivard says, “I love [Pritts’] loyalty to the incidental, the moments where our truest feelings reveal themselves. He reminds me a bit of Joseph Ceravolo—he takes the bewilderment that we so often feel and he turns it into a spell devised to heal us.”

If you’re interested in writing a review or talking to Nate, DM or email with galley requests or questions.

Happy Friday, yes?

27 Jan

Interested poets, you still have 33 days to submit to the 2017 42 Miles Press Poetry Award contest.

In the meantime, Kimberly Lambright’s Ultra-Cabin (winner of the 42 Miles Press Poetry Award), is available to be previewed and purchased at SPD and Amazon. And… an awesome interview with the author can be found here.

And, because it’s Friday, and I’m thinking about Spring… here are two poems from Superstition Review by the 2017 42 Miles Press Poetry Award winner, Nate Pritts (DECOHERENCE, forthcoming).

A Virtual Interview w/ Kimberly Lambright

11 Jan

Bookwoman poetry open mic curator, Cindy Huyser, interviewed Kimberly Lambright about Ultra-Cabin and we are delighted to report you can now find that interview here!

And an excerpt (selfishly) mentioning 42 Miles Press here:

“I sent Ultra-Cabin to about 15 first-book contests over a period of about 2
years; the book was a finalist/semifinalist for a few contests, so that was
encouraging. 42 Miles is a small shop out of Indiana University—they
started in 2010 and put out one book a year, the poetry contest winner. I
found them via the Poets & Writers’ website. I was floored when I won and
feel really lucky to belong to the 42 Miles line—Betsy Andrews’ eerie and
beautiful The Bottom won the contest in 2013, for example, so I feel in
very good company.”

What are you intoxicated by this winter?

(Slight) Delay Notice

5 Sep

Whelp, this is not the type of news we get particularly excited about posting, and, in fact, it’s a little embarrassing. Running a poetry press is filled with, uh, let’s call them first occasions. (Not all of them are ones worth celebrating.)

The release of Kimberly Lambright’s Ultra-Cabin has been delayed. Like all winners of the 42 Miles Press Poetry Award, it’s “official release date” is September, 1st, but due to circumstances outside of our control, it will not be available to purchase or preview for another week or so.

Rest assured, the moment the book is in our hands we will work overtime to get it into your hands. Kimberly’s stunning first book will be available to purchase on SPD, Amazon, and from us or the author directly.

Our deepest apologies to Kimberly and to you, 42M readers.

For more information on the 42 Miles Press Poetry Award please visit our contest and submissions page. If you have questions, comments, concerns, or would like to request a review copy of Ultra-Cabin please e-mail 42 Miles directly at 42milespress@gmail.com.

Kimberly Lambright’s Ultra-Cabin, winner of the 42 Miles Press Poetry Award, will be available for purchase on September 1, 2016 (Amazon, SPD)… in the meantime, here’s my favorite poem about lemonade.
