Bookwoman poetry open mic curator, Cindy Huyser, interviewed Kimberly Lambright about Ultra-Cabin and we are delighted to report you can now find that interview here!
And an excerpt (selfishly) mentioning 42 Miles Press here:
“I sent Ultra-Cabin to about 15 first-book contests over a period of about 2
years; the book was a finalist/semifinalist for a few contests, so that was
encouraging. 42 Miles is a small shop out of Indiana University—they
started in 2010 and put out one book a year, the poetry contest winner. I
found them via the Poets & Writers’ website. I was floored when I won and
feel really lucky to belong to the 42 Miles line—Betsy Andrews’ eerie and
beautiful The Bottom won the contest in 2013, for example, so I feel in
very good company.”
“To Vie” from Kimberly Lambright’s Ultra-Cabin (winner of the 42 Miles Press Poetry Award).
Ultra-Cabin is currently available and able to be previewed and purchased at SPD and Amazon. Or you can purchase a copy from the author herself. She will be reading on 1.12.17 at BookWoman in Austin, TX and again on 1.13.17 at Berl’s Poetry Shop in Brooklyn, NY.
Our fearless leader, David Dodd Lee, has a new book of Ashbery erasure poems out now!
And Others, Vaguer Presences published by BlazeVOX can be previewed and purchased here.
Looking for a list of books to keep you warm during this unbearably cold winter?
This week Kimberly Lambright’s Ultra-Cabin made SPD’s recommended list.

The 42 Miles Press family was excited to learn that one of our favorite poets and human-beings, Allan Peterson (author of Precarious), has a new chapbook available for preorder from Tupelo Press. It’s been a pretty great year for poetry.
While the printing of Ultra-Cabin may have been delayed, the hype continues. Ultra-October is here! Kimberly Lambright, Bianca Stone, and Simone Kearney will be giving an All Hallows’ Eve reading at Cornelia Street Cafe (New York) on Monday, October 31. Event details, author bios, and other pieces of useful information about this reading can be found here.
Whelp, this is not the type of news we get particularly excited about posting, and, in fact, it’s a little embarrassing. Running a poetry press is filled with, uh, let’s call them first occasions. (Not all of them are ones worth celebrating.)
The release of Kimberly Lambright’s Ultra-Cabin has been delayed. Like all winners of the 42 Miles Press Poetry Award, it’s “official release date” is September, 1st, but due to circumstances outside of our control, it will not be available to purchase or preview for another week or so.
Rest assured, the moment the book is in our hands we will work overtime to get it into your hands. Kimberly’s stunning first book will be available to purchase on SPD, Amazon, and from us or the author directly.
Our deepest apologies to Kimberly and to you, 42M readers.
